Details

At the Thai Elephant Conservation Centre in the northern province of Lampang, people who are interested in the well being and care of Thailand’s most majestic animal gather for Thai Elephant Week during the second week of March.

On March 12th, visitors can participate in an ancient royal tradition which was adopted by princes and high-ranking officials of the old Lanna Kingdom.  On this day, visitors can join the mahouts on a ceremonial dinner for the elephants, called the “Northern Khontok Dinner.”  This event, and the dinner itself are part of a very old royal tradition, and considered at the pinnacle of northern Thai cuisine.  Celebrate the elephants place in Thai culture and feed the elephant a Khontok treat!

Please call ahead and confirm the date and time of the event, as plans may change.

Exotissimo.com: Perfect Thailand Tours at the Best Possible Prices

"I just returned on a 2 week tour of Thailand and Laos with your company. Had a great time and it was so well organized. I would like to get Mr. Aesopa's email so I can email him some pictures of my son and I. Mr. Aesopa is a wonderful guide and he really enhanced the trip by showing us some unusual places and food. We even tried dried insects and snake whisky. Thank you again and we can't wait to plan our next trip. Our friends want to go to with us to Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos in the near future."
