The Thailand-Vietnam-Cambodia Golf Trail is fast becoming the worlds most talked about golf tour. Siem Reap, the home of Cambodia’s magnificent Angkor Wat temples, continues its bid to become South East Asia’s newest golf holiday destination, with the opening of its third PGA rated 18 hole golf course. Yesterday Hun Sen, Cambodia’s Prime Minister and avid golfer, took the inaugural tee-off shot and announced the Siem Reap Lake Golf Resort officially open.
Beginning in October 1994 with under 300 athletes, the annual Laguna Phuket Triathlon now enrolls over 900 participants and has been crowned as the “Race of Legends”.
The 700 Year Stadium Sports Complex in is the largest sports facility in the city and is located off of Canal Road, just outside of the inner city square of Chiang Mai. It is easy to get to, easy to find, and only about a 15 minute motorcycle ride from the center of Chiang Mai. While traveling down Canal Road, the signs are in Thai language but you can make out the “700” in the script, just follow the signs.
Originally held in 1987 as a celebration of the King of Thailand’s 60th birthday, the regatta has taken hold of international yachtsmen and is now a week-long sailing party!
Kep, on Cambodia’s delightful south coast is hosting its second annual Half Marathon & Bike Ride in order to raise funds to support a grass-roots community empowerment project.
