So I recently found what is most likely the coolest company in the world. Every time I've headed off and about I've always had the same issues with carrying money. Travelers checks are a hassle, as half the places you end up dont really want to take them. Carrying wads of cash is around is a sure way to end up with a headache and no money. Leaving it stashed in your room, well.. Heh.. A friend of mine recently told me about iKobo which is an online money transfer company. Basically, they give you a prepaid style visa card and you can hit any internet cafe and charge it up. Plop the thing through any ATM and your golden. I checked it out and it rocks. I've actually been carrying two of them around with me. One for the police to see in case i get shaken down for anything on those Cambodia / PI trips, and another with a little more money in it for me. Pretty nice when you come across some crooked police trying to hit you up and when they walk you to the ATM you only have $50 in it.. :)
