Details
Every year on January 7, through out the country of Cambodia, victory over the Cambodian Genocide is remembered. In the year 1979, the Vietnamese came to Cambodia to “liberate” or “invade” (again depending on one’s viewpoint) the country and stop the Khmer Rouge’s reign of power.
The day is a recognized as a national holiday, and most offices are closed. Through out the country there are many remembrance services, cultural displays, exhibitions, and a fireworks display at night. One place filled with many mourners is the S-21 detention camp and the killing fields. During the Khmer Rouge’s reign between 1.7 and 2 million people were killed.

I would like to thank you and your company very much for its excellent organisation of our visit to Siem Reap earlier this month. We greatly enjoyed the visit and found it most interesting. We were well looked after from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. In particular we would like to thank Mr Sophoam, our guide. He was extremely friendly, polite and knowledgeable about his country, its history and the temples we visited. I shall be pleased to recommend your company to others visiting Cambodia and beyond.
