I must admit, when the idea of going to a cabaret show was mentioned, I really didn’t know what to expect.  I wasn’t sure what audience the show was intended for and I really didn’t want our group to end up in a ladyboy go-go bar scene.  All of those concerns where put to rest after being seated and watching the show begin.  The cabaret was tasteful and well done.  The performers were dressed to the hilt and many would have passed for a female model in any magazine (and many would not have…)  The backdrops where truly impressive, and one thing that I did appreciate was how multicultural the performance was.  The crowd was a mix of people from all places, and the performance was suited just for that.  Acts ranging from a fan dance set to traditional Chinese music, to a Tina Turner impersonation, to an Egyptian act really did a great job of catering to a diverse crowd.  The show also boasted some rather hilarious comedy skits while preparations where being made for the next act.  These comedy skits rely on some help from the audience, so be weary of sitting in the front rows as you may find yourself wearing some unexpected lipstick or be called to assist a rather obese ladyboy up onto the stage.

I can say that after seeing it, I’m glad that I saw it and I would recommend it to a friend while in Patong Beach, Phuket.  It was well done, funny and tasteful.  We went as two  couples and had a great time.  And yes..  They really are all men, as unbelievable as it is when watching.  You can purchase tickets in almost every travel agency, and it is recommended to get the VIP tickets as a strong majority of the theater is VIP seating and the regular seats are on the second floor with not nearly as good of a view.
