Best shopping spots in Thailand

1. JJ Market

This place is huge! You have to stop out here, its voted as being the largest open market in the world and after a day of walking around, I'm not even sure how much of it i saw. It's really a must see.

2. Sunday Market in Chiang Mai

This market starts at Thapea Gate and runs almost the whole way across the ancient city. I really liked it because there where a lot of locals shopping as well as vending, and it really had a "northern Thailand" feel to it. Get there early (6 PM) cause it gets crowded.

3. Ramkamhaeng Market

I liked this place because I was the only foreigner there, and you can tell that they don't see a lot of English speakers here. It is every night and is right across the street from Ramkamhaeng University. Super cheap! Super friendly!!

4. The Paragon Mall

This is a huge mega first world mall, but after shopping around in little markets it was nice to get into some air-conditioning! Its right at the Siam BTS station. Check out a movie on the top floor, remember to stand up for the king!

5. Patpong Market

Is it a red-light district in the middle of a neighborhood of go-go bars, or a market? Both! Was fun to walk around and I got a Rolex for $10 USD!

6. Bangkapi Market

This is a covered market next to the mall Bangkapi. No foreigners here, really really cheap. Was great to get out there and its not to far from the Ramkamhaeng market if you want to hit this before that. Also, from the back side of the Mall Bangkapi which is next door, you can take the canal boat back to Siam where the Paragon Mall is. Recommended!

7. MBK

This is a big mix match of shops across the street from the Paragon Shopping Mall. Cheap but cool! Big with the university crowd..
