Thai festivals you gotta see
Try to be in Chiang Mai for this one. The streets are lined with people throwing buckets of water at everyone. No one stays dry, so watch your camera, phone, face..
This is a romantic holiday for the Thai's. Normally a boyfriend and girlfriend put a small "boat" which is basically a piece of wood with flowers and candles on it into the water. Chiang Mai again is the best place. There are also hundreds of the sky candles, which light up night. Really pretty.
Despite its name, vegetarian food isn't the main attraction. It's more a parade of self mutilation. People walking down the streets with swords through their cheeks and things piercing the skin. It's a little bloody, but interesting to see.
Some of the most beautiful flower floats and Thai dancers I've ever seen. Really pretty to talk around and see, I have no idea how many flowers it takes to put on this holiday. Unreal..
