Coffee Society is known mainly for being a 24 hour cafe / restaurant with free wireless internet (wifi). It is tucked away under the Bangkok sky train along Silom road just down from the infamous Patpong red-light district. This side of Patpong is known for being the epicenter of gay Thailand, and is one of the more famous gay neighborhoods in Bangkok.
The cafe has a good menu with a wide selection of international food, good coffee and a relaxed environment inside. There are a few floors to choose from. The ground floor is small and is mostly just a half dozen tables next to the counter. The second floor is divided up into more private tables, and you will often see people there with laptops out taking advantage of the free internet. The third floor is more open, and offers couches for a more relaxed time. There is also an outside area with a flat screen television and a few electrical plugs if you in need of a charge. Inside, electricity is everywhere and on the first floor there are a few computers in case you don’t have your own.
It can get a little crazy in the early morning after the clubs in the area let out, so if you are in need of concentration or looking to make a Skype call overseas this may not be the best time and place.
