Would you like to help under privileged people and make yourself known as a writer in the process?  By submitting content to TravelMonks that is exactly what you are doing.  

TravelMonks aims at sponsoring small, attainable community projects in the areas that we cover on the website.  These projects are funded through ad revenue which is generated from people booking hotels, airline tickets, tours, clicking on Google ads, or other services offered on travelmonks.com.

The way it works, is when writers who support what we are doing submit content, search engines such as Google and Yahoo see that content which brings more visitors to the website, reading your contribution.  The more visitors that TravelMonks gets, the more people end up booking or clicking, hence more money there is to work with toward community projects.  In addition to helping lesser privileged, you are also enlightening those lesser experienced travelers with your wisdom!

There are many ways that you can make a difference through supporting TravelMonks:

• Become a volunteer who contributes “official” content.  These are article, event or venue pieces which are displayed on the website to inform others of what to do and see when traveling in those areas.  You receive credit for these contributions, which links back to your profile page.

• Keep a blog and keep it current!  If you are in one of the countries on the website, talk about your experiences there!  If your not, talk about your interests, plans, or dreams!

• Contribute to the forum.  This is a quick and easy way to contribute, and a really great way to meet people!  This is where you have the most interaction with people in the community, even though most just read and don’t tend to say much..  We know your watching, we can see the website analytics!

• Book your airline, hotel or other travel plans through TravelMonks!  We have a lot of affiliate partners, ranging from airlines, hotels, education, books, tours, and more!  Many of our affiliates have a lowest price guarantee, so if you can find it cheaper somewhere else they will send you the difference.  On the home page, about half way down on the left you will see a little section called “Travel Cheap”.  These are a few links to some of our travel affiliates.  For example, if you wanted to purchase an airline ticket from Expedia.com, you could click that link.  You would then be taken to Expedia to book your actual ticket, but because you came from TravelMonks they support us with a small percent.  This is the quickest and most direct way that you can support what we are doing.
